crazy times
hi, I am now posting an actual post, and updating you on my life recently..... so
I was at winter meltdown at IRBC this past weekend and it was absolutely frigid...... I really miss Cali and tank tops and sunshine and swimming.... but anyways, it was cold and icy, and my friend and I were walking down this hill and it was slightly slick, and the last time we had walked down it, I had slipped. so before going down the hill she's like "don't fall and die natalie..... meheh." and so I'm like "Okay!!" and she turns and slipps and falls.... it was funny, I love my crazy friends and good crazy times!!!!!!!! and that same friend and I were talking about how I would marry someone really tall (since I'm not even 5 foot) and how me and my husband would to somewhere and a random lady would be like "oh sir your daughter is so cute!!" and my husband would be like "it's my WIFE!!!!" with his deep voice..... :D
my friends are very quoteable, and I have a quotebook basically full of quotes by them!!!! so yea that is an update of my life right now. I'll most likely write later.

i really like writing... heres the beginning of a story i wrote called Forever Young...hope ya like it!!!
Prologue: The Beginning
“Elliott, what are you doing here? You know we’ll get in trouble with Mrs. Yates if she finds us here!” There was obvious worry in Kaden’s voice as she looked into the brown eyes of her best friend. Elliott ignored Kaden’s concern and sat down next to her.
“She’s talking to some possible ‘buyers’“ Elliott assured her, laughing slightly at his own joke. Life in the orphanage was extremely hard, especially for a seven-year-old like him, so he had learned to let go of his feelings, all of them except the love he had for his best friend Kaden. Kaden on the other hand took everything too seriously she was on guard constantly, mostly out of fear of Mrs. Yates, the orphanage keeper. But whenever Elliott was with her, she didn’t feel afraid.
“Elliott?” she whispered.
“Yeah?”
“We’ll always be together right?”
Elliott’s face became serious, “Yeah, even if im not with you, I’ll always be with you in my heart, I promise.” He reached over and took her hand in his.
Even though Elliott was only seven, and Kaden was only six, they had both lost their families, so all they had was each other.
The sound of footsteps drawing near interrupted the moment that was shared between them. Elliott looked frantically around for a means of escape, but it was too late,
Mrs. Yates was already leading a nice looking couple into the room.
Kaden gripped Elliott’s hand harder, her own hands trembling with fear. She could see Mrs. Yates’s steely gaze on the two of them, and she and Elliott very well knew that the anger Mrs. Yates was holding back behind a tight smile on her face, they would both get their share of when the couple was gone.
“This is the girls section.” Mrs. Yates said behind tightly clenched teeth. She reached over and took a hold of Elliott’s shirt, forcing him to let go of Kaden’s hand. Mrs. Yates smiled at the couple, “A bit of a trouble maker sometimes, but a very fine boy.”
“Can we pick him up in the morning?” The man asked with a smile lighting his face. Mrs. Yates nodded and turned to lead the couple down the stairs to sign papers, before she exited the room, she turned to glare at the two children.
Kaden burst into tears when the adults left,
“They cant take you away!” she managed in between sobs. Elliott wrapped his arms around her shaking shoulders, tears streaming down his cheeks. He was unable to speak; he just closed his eyes and held on to Kaden.
The two children looked up, startled, when the doors burst open and Mrs. Yates stormed in. Kaden held on tighter to Elliot and she felt his grip tighten on her.
“I’m not going.” Elliott’s voice broke at the end, but he had a determined ‘make me ‘look on his face.
“We’ll see about that.” Mrs. Yates growled, she took hold of Elliott’s shirt and had to literally rip the two children apart.
“NOOOO!!!!” Kaden screamed, a fresh stream of tears leaking down her face.
She still had his hand and desperately tried to hold on, but their fingers were pried apart.
“I’ll come back for you Kaden!” Elliott cried ad the door began to close behind him, “No matter what, I’ll find you!” He desperately screamed the last three words, and then it was quiet….
Chapter 1: Facing Reality Isn’t As Easy As It Sounds
Kaden awoke gasping for breath. The dark around her seemed suffocating, she felt so alone. It had been 10 years since she last saw Elliott, she was now 16. But the memories from the orphanage were still very clear in her mind. She had never forgotten her best friend, the only person who had ever mattered in her world, and the only thing now, was to see him again.
A loud bang on her door interrupted her thoughts. “It’s probably Carlos.” She muttered as she rolled out of her bed to answer the door. She was right; there stood Carlos asking for rent again, his deep brown eyes filled with a determination. Kaden rolled her eyes as she answered that she didn’t get paid for another week.
“But I am a poor man!” Carlos begged
“Yeah well, so am I, minus the man part.” Kaden muttered as she shut the door in Carlos’s face. Usually she wasn’t mean to people like this, but Carlos got on her nerves all the time about the stupid rent; only so she could live in the hole in the wall apartment she called her home. It wasn’t easy being out in the world at 16 tears of age and alone at that. Kaden had never gotten adopted and was kicked out of the orphanage when she turned thirteen years old. Not all orphanages kicked the kids out, but with an owner like Mrs. Yates, it was almost expected. Kaden had been alone ever since that day, that horrible day when she was thrown out. At first she lived in the streets, but then Carlos found her and offered her a home in his apartment building for a cheap price.
He had helped her get the job she had at the coffee shop also. Kaden didn’t really hate him; after all, he helped her get her life in order after it had fallen to pieces. No, she could never say she hated him, but he often liked to nag about rent, which got on her nerves.
Kaden figured it was about time to get ready for work. She still worked at the coffee shop that Carlos had helped her find a job at 3 years ago, in down town Duluth. It wasn’t anything special but it payed decently enough for Kaden to get by. Kaden had lived in Duluth most of her life after she got kicked out of the orphanage, which was in Wisconsin, just across Lake Superior. Kaden thought that Duluth had a nice homey atmosphere; it wasn’t too small where she felt chlosterphobic, but it wasn’t horribly big either where she felt lost.
Kaden sighed as she walked back to her kitchen to start making breakfast, even though she didn’t feel like eating. The dream she had had that night had dredged up memories she would rather not remember. Its not that she wanted to forget about Elliott, but it was easier not to dwell on the past and mope around all depressed about it.
Kaden looked out her window at Lake Superior glistening blue in the sunlight.
“It’s gonna be a long day.” She muttered
Chapter 2: Trying to Move On… Literally
“You’re moving?” Oliver Jackson’s voice was incredulous.
“Yeah, to Duluth, my dad got a transfer.” Elliott replied.
Elliott Parker stood in the hallway of North Dayton High School in L’Anse Michigan. He stood with Oliver Jackson, known to most people as Ollie. Ollie and Elliott had been friends since his first day at North Dayton, and now Ollie looked heartbrokenly at Elliott.
“How soon?” he asked.
Elliott shrugged, “probably not for a while, someone still has to fill his position here.”
Ollie stood still trying to register what he had just been told,
“What am I gonna do without ya, man?”
Elliott smiled and rolled his eyes, “Don’t give me that crap, you’ll be fine.”
“But you’re my best friend.” Ollie whined.
“Yeah, and I always will be.”
